Book Club 2025

JANUARY 22ND • JANUARY 29TH • FEBRUARY 5TH • FEBRUARY 12TH

WEDNESDAY’S 12PM-1:15PM MST

Platform | Zoom

Overview

The Women in Ranching Book Club was started by April Martin Chalfant as a way to connect with one another and explore new perspectives —using books as a vehicle to spark conversation.

These gatherings are informally guided by a WIR facilitator who will lead discussions related to the chosen literature.

Whether you have read the entire book, are into chapter one, can make it to two meetings or all four, we welcome you! This offering is free to participants.

Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver

This book follows Dellarobia Turnbow, a disillusioned young mother in Appalachia. Her discovery of millions of monarch butterflies roosting nearby catalyzes change in her life and community. The novel examines environmental change, rural poverty, and the intersection of science and religion, addressing climate change through a personal lens.
