Community Agreements

When you gather with WIR, whether virtually or in-person, we work hard as an organization to create a connecting space for all women to be seen and affirmed in their leadership and stewardship of the land. However, this work cannot be done by our team alone, it is a highly participatory process that requires your energy and contributions. When you gather with us, you are a co-creator of this space.

Will you join us?

Commit to dignity, respect, and honor

We invite you to welcome different perspectives: As an organization, Women in Ranching believes that differing experiences, impressions, and opinions are essential to a healthy community. We invite you to sit with difference and diversity. We acknowledge that we all have unique personal experiences and education on the topics brought forward in our gatherings. We welcome your perspectives and views, but please note that we do not try to change one another’s minds in this space. Instead, we sit with our differences and engage in open, honest, and respectful dialogue.

Commit to 100% Confidentiality

Please respect that confidentiality is integral to this space: Take home learnings, but do not identify other participants, now or later, in spoken or written communication about this event. Share your stories and insights, not that of other participants.

Commit to supporting yourself and others to show up fully

We invite you to join this community as your authentic whole self. Your engagement is expected throughout the gathering. If you are unable to engage, please seek out a leader and let them know why you need to step away. We are delighted that you are here and hope you are able to commit your full presence, time and energy to the gathering.

Commit to co-creating BRAVE space

  • Be open to new and different ideas and perspectives.

  • Welcome multiple realities in conversation.

  • Be ready to explore, understand, own, and acknowledge your impact.

  • Focus on listening to learn rather than listening to respond.

To pray you open your whole self

To sky, to earth, to sun, to moon

To one whole voice that is you.

And know there is more

Thant you can’t see, can’t hear,

Can’t know except in moments

Steadily growing, and in languages

That aren’t always sound but other

Circles of motion…..

We see you, see ourselves and know

That we must take the utmost care

And kindness in all things.

Breathe in, knowing we are made of

All this, and breathe, knowing

We are truly blessed because we

Were born, and die soon within a

True circle of motion….   Excerpt from Eagle Poem by Joy Harjo
