2023 Mindfulness Program

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

We have different lives, different values, come from different cultures, and share different beliefs. But the one thing we have in common is our love of land, agriculture, and open spaces. In this four week program, we will work together to learn how to quiet our minds, manage anxiety, cultivate self-awareness, and develop an unshakeable inner calm that supports our mental health.

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATORS

The four week practice will be led by Macala Rose, a certified somatic, breathwork and mindfulness coach. Macala is also a woman in ranching. After 15 years in corporate America, she found herself at a crossroads of what she wanted to do with her life and wandered on to a farm.

After a year of volunteering, she packed up, moved to the ranch and started to learn about all aspects of food, livestock management, and horses.

In that discovery journey, she faced many issues that women in agriculture face. Realizing the need to help women, she became educated in somatic experiencing, breathwork and mindfulness.

Using what she learned, she started to create trauma-informed programs for women in BIPOC communities because of the lack of programs designed for them.

Partnering with Women In Ranching, under the guidance of Amber Smith, she created this program specifically for women in ranching and agriculture.

The program is co-lead by Christina Fajardo, a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in trauma recovery for women and children. Christina is EAGALA-certified, equine-assisted therapy practitioner as well. Both Macala and Christina love cattle, cutting horses and exploring country backroads.
